1. Avoid designing walls that are too thin
Thin walls are a requirement for certain engineering projects, such as drone parts or whistles. When designing CNC machining, avoiding overly thin walls can improve your model. Research has shown that wall thickness is directly proportional to material stiffness, therefore reducing wall thickness will also reduce material stiffness, thereby reducing achievable accuracy due to inevitable vibrations during the machining process. The standard minimum thickness for metal walls is 0.794 millimeters, and the minimum thickness for plastic walls is 1.5 millimeters.
